Clearance from ceiling sheetrock to top of key (5" casing) is approx.
8-1/4".

Capital extends 1-1/8" from back edge of molding.

Plinth base capital extends 1-5/8" from back edge of casing.

Light switch boxes should be mounted minimum of 6" from rough opening.

*Subtract 12" off all vertical measurements when using 8' ceilings.

MATERIALS:
All solid parts are manufactured from kiln dried Poplar. Jambs are face laminated veneers.

FINISHED OPENING HEIGHTS:
Standard is 92" or 80". Standard jamb is 4-5/8".

WIDTH OF FINISHED OPENING:
Elliptical sizes: 28", 30", 32", 34", 36", 40", 42", 45", 48", 54", 57", 60", 64", 66", 72", 78", 84", 90", 96". Elliptical Rise 12".
Round Top sizes: 28", 30", 32", 34", 36", 40", 42", 45", 48", 54", 57", 60", 64", 66", 72".
Round Top Rise = 1/2 width.

Custom heights, opening widths and jamb widths are available.

FOR ELLIPTICAL (IMPORTANT!): To assure proper sheetrock installation, toenail a 2x4 across opening at 15" below header. Sheetrock both sides of opening down to this temporary 2x4. No special blocking in corners is necessary.

FOR ROUND TOP (IMPORTANT!): Toenail 2x4 straight across opening below header 1/2 distance of opening width. Then continue with sheetrock as for ellipticals.

Finished opening heights are standard 92" from finished floor for 9' ceiling height and 80" for 8' ceiling height.
Column heights will vary on Round Top Cased Opening depending on finished opening width. Column heights are determined by subtracting half the finished opening width from the finished opening height of the cased opening.
Minimum distance of framed opening to corner is 7". This allows for 3/4" thick baseboard with 1/2" return.
Frame opening width is finished opening width +2".
Rough opening must be within 1/4" of plumb, otherwise leave additional space.
